Here is a list of top four strikers in the premier league that are performing beyond everybody’s expectations.

1. Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool signed Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke city as a backup to their trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminho but in recent weeks the Swiss international player has become an important player under Jurgen Klopp after an impressive start to his Liverpool career.

Although many may not have expected that the 27year old Swiss international player would be making such huge impact at Liverpool, the Liverpool winger have now scored and assisted four (4) goals in just 8 premier league games this season since he joined from Stoke City in the summer. Xherdan Shaqiri has adapted perfectly to life in Anfield and has shown versatility as he is capable of playing in the midfield as well as in attack.

2. Callum Wilson

Bournemouth front man, Callum Wilson has contributed to 10 (6 goals and 4 assists) goals in his 12 premier league appearances for Bournemouth this season. Callum Wilson has started the season on a very strong foot and an impressive goalscoring form and is just two (2) goals away from reaching his highest Premier league goal-scoring tally. Callum Wilson’s impressive form in the front of goal has been noticed by the England national team and the Bournemouth striker was recently called up to the England national team squad in recognition of his brilliant effort.

Callum Wilson’s tally of six (6) goals is only bettered by three players in the premier league while his tally of four (4) assists is also only bettered by three players. It is not surprising to Bournemouth doing well in the league as they sit comfortably in the 6th position on the premier league table as at least two of their players are in blistering impressive form.

It is now also more glaring that the Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is enjoying his best career season yet as he is now the focus of transfer talks, rumors, and speculations.

Bournemouth will do well to hold on to the impressive and in-form England striker.

3. Ryan Fraser

Another Bournemouth player enjoying a bright and impressive run of form as the new season began is winger Ryan Fraser. Ryan Fraser has disappointed his doubters and critics with weeks upon weeks of impressive standout performances. The Scottish international winger has now achieved his best goal/assists tally in any season yet after scoring and/or assisting nine (9) goals.

This season, only Chelsea’s Willian (35) and Manchester City’s David Silva (34) have created more goalscoring chances than Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser (33) and no premier league player has yet provided more assists than Ryan Fraser (6).

Although Ryan Fraser was signed by Bournemouth some five years ago, it appears that this might be his best performing season for the Cherries.

4. Glenn Murray

Another player that is enjoying an unexpectedly fantastic and impressive goalscoring start to the 2018/2019 season is 35year old Brighton striker, Glenn Murray. Murray hit his top goalscoring form about 3months towards the end of last season when he scored six (6) premier league goals between January and March 2018.

Although Brighton signed Jurgen Locadia in the January transfer window and Florin Andone in the summer transfer window, Glen Murray have being able to ward off competition for the top spot and remain the first choice striker in Brighton’s attacking line up as he continued on his sharpness in front of goal from where he left off last season. Glenn Murray has now scored more goals than Jurgen Locadia and Flodin Andone put together this season. Talks of a possible call-up to the England national team squad have even resurfaced somewhat unexpectedly for the 35year old Brighton striker due to his fine form.

So far this season, Glenn Murray’s six (6) premier league goals is only bettered by Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (7), Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (7), and Manchester city’s Sergio Aguero (8) while only five premier league players have won more aerial duels than the Brighton striker’s 61.

In the 12 games that Glenn Murray have played this season, 50% of his 16 shots were on target and 38% of the shots were converted into goals.
