Senator Adeleke summoned by the Nigerian police over  exam malpractice

Ademola Adeleke, an aspirant of the Osun state governorship position is once again in the news not for his sleek dance moves but for an incriminating reason.

Senator Adeleke has been accused by the Nigerian police of “examination malpractice, impersonation, criminal conspiracy, aiding  and abetting crime”

Police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood says

Senetor Ademola Adeleke and  Sikiru Adeleke registered and sat for National Examination Council (NECO) 2017 as internal candidates of Ojo-Aro Community Grammer School, Egbedore LGA, Osun State and were impersonating students of the school at the ages of 57years and 42years respectively.  This was the crime was facilitated by the principal of the school and two other members of staff of the school for which they are under investigation and being charged to court

The names of the accomplice of the malpractice for the senator have been given as Alhaji Aregbesola (The Principal), Mr. Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (a school staff responsible for the registration of the candidate for NECO) and Mr. Dare Olutope (a school teacher who facilitated the crime)

There is a change in age from the police account of events.

In the NECO 2017 result obtained by the police, Adeleke claimed that he was born on June 12th, 1997 but in his statement to the police, Senator Adeleke wrote May 13th, 1960 as his date of birth. The photograph of both Senator Adeleke and Sikiru Adeleke appearing side by side in the photo album have no NECO stamps on them.

Senator Adeleke made a cautionary statement and admitted he registered for the 2017 NECO examination as an internal student but did not sit for the examination but have a result from NECO with seven credit  (7c) and one pass, a copy of which was obtained from NECO by the police

Senator Adeleke and the four others “ Sikiru Adele, Alhaji Aregbesola (The Principal of  Ojo-Aro Community Grammer School, Egbedore LGA, Osun State), Mr. Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (a school staff responsible for the registration of the candidate for NECO) and Mr. Dare Olutope (a school teacher who facilitated the crime)” were arrested but were granted bail and are being charged to court. Consequently, Senator Adeleke and the four other “ Sikiru Adele, Alhaji Aregbesola (The Principal of  Ojo-Aro Community Grammer School, Egbedore LGA, Osun State), Mr. Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (a school staff responsible for the registration of the candidate for NECO) and Mr. Dare Olutope (a school teacher who facilitated the crime)” are hereby advised in their own interest to report to the Special Investigation Panel, Force Headquarter, Abuja immediately for arraignment in court

With just three days before the  Osun governorship election in which he is the flag bearer. All kinds of political meaning have been thrown into Senator certificate saga. Which is why President Mummadu Buhari has stopped the police from summoning Senator Adeleke for the moment.
