See what Ambode’s wife did to Tinubu at the Osun state governorship election campaign

The Lagos state Governor’s wife Bolanle Ambode last-minute effort to save her husband’s job on Tuesday was said to have resulted in futile efforts.

According our source, Tinubu was said to have received her cordially and joked with her” yet her effort yielded no result. She became emotional at a point not regarding the fact that many party leaders were present but Asiwaju Tinubu did not consent to her desire. One of the sources said, he merely treated her with courtesy.

  • In the past few days the Governor and Tinubu have been in the news over the second term bid of Ambode. Despite the plea of notable people in the state and country Tinubu refusal to back Ambode’s second term ambition still stands. Instead, the Lagos APC Mandate movement led by Tinubu had backed Babajide Sanwo-olu who obtained his form last Tuesday.

The 57 council chairmen had also declared Sanwo-olu their support. A former commissioner in the state, Sanwo-olu formally declared his intention to vie Lagos state governorship ticket of the APC on Sunday, promising the restoration of the state’s glory. At the declaration, notable APC leaders in the state, who were either Tinubu’s allies or followers were present.

  • Meanwhile, the Mandate group had started wooing another aspirant on the APC platform, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, sources said. It was gathered that Hamzat who is from the Lagos East like Ambode was wanted by Tinubu’s men, to become the deputy governor with a promise that he would nominate two commissioners into the cabinet and would supervise a ministry.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been nominated by the National party Chairman Tinubu as the  All Progressive Congress governorship aspirant for Lagos State. Sanwo-Olu who is presently the CEO of Lagos State Development and Property Corporation(LSDPC) make a courageous move to take up APC governorship nomination form alongside with Dr. Femi Hamzat who was appointed as the Commissioner for Ministry Of Science and Technology, Lagos State in August 2005.

  • Tinubu claimed the present Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode cannot be trusted for a second term. The ongoing rift between Ambode and Tinubu has affected the construction work at Muritala Muhammed Airport Road and Pen Cinema Bridge as the Contractor, Hitech Construction company Limited has left the sites. Some acclaimed that the reasons for this is due to non-payment of fees by the Government. The Government is said to be owing about 20 billion naira and Tinubu presumably owns major stakes in the construction company.

According to Guardian, major equipment has been moved  away from the site however the assistant director, public affairs of the Lagos Ministry of Works and infrastructure, Shina Thorpe said the work on the site has not stopped yet but the rain has prevented them from working.

On the outstanding payment of the contractor, he said:

“There are payment schedules and the state government is working with those schedules. You don’t expect the government to pay everything without the work completed”.

Governor Ambode on the other hand has denied being in a rift with Tinubu. Mr Aruna the chief press secretary of Ambode qouted Ambode at the national convention party  in Epe during the election of delegates for the Presidential Primary election.

“I want you to know that there is no fight anywhere. The national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my good self we are not in any fight, we are not in any controversy”.

The obvious prove there is a disagreement within APC, is the support of the Local government chairmen and members of the Mandate Group for Sanwo-olu.
